DETAILS
UNDERLINING is a visual study on the structure of typography and the geometry of negative space. Τhis body of work shifts the focus from reading textual meaning to observing pure form.
In this series, letters and typographic characters are treated as "ready-made" geometries. Through a process of isolation and underlining, these elements are detached from their functional roles, revealing a hidden world of forms: landscapes, silhouettes, and architectural volumes that lie dormant between the lines.
A central role is played by negative space. The white background is not merely a void behind the shapes, but an active structural component, carrying equal weight to the black mass.
Ultimately, UNDERLINING is an invitation to look more closely at the familiar. It is an acknowledgment that everything around us—within a poster, a book, or a sign—carries the potential to be transformed into something else, provided we change the context through which we perceive it.
